Balinese dried Alang-Alang grass woven over a bamboo stick. 2.5m long and the thatch hangs down approximately 500mm. 

To achieve a waterproof structure, the pitch of the roof needs to be a minimum of 30 degrees and the maximum spacing centres between the thatching sticks needs to be 60mm. To cover 1m2 of roof area, you require 6.7 sticks of thatch. Then you will have approx 5-10% of waste to add on the total sticks.

For the corners of the structure, we sell bunches of thatch called "Mud Bugs". you will need 3 per every 400 - 450mm on the corner.
